Pride FC Rules

A fighter can win by a submission a knockout or a technical knockout. The corner can also throw in the towel. PRIDE Fighting Championships considers the following to be fouls:

There is no head butting

There is no Eye Gouging

No Hair pulling is allowed

No Biting is allowed.

No Fish Hooking

No groin attacks

Strikes to the back of the head are disallowed, which includes the occipital region and the spine. The sides of the head and the area around the ears are not considered to be the back of the head.

Any form of small joint manipulation is illegal

Any elbow strikes to the head and face are disallowed

Deliberately throwing your opponent out of the ring

Pride Fighting Championship rules differ between main PRIDE event and the popular Pride Bushido events. They also did differ from the UFC rules however these rules were changed so that they now are similar.

There are four main weight classes. These are as follows:

Lightweight –     160lbs. and under
Welterweight -    160lbs-182 lbs.   
Middleweight -   183lbs-204lbs
Heavyweight -     205lbs and over.
